
Not the hardest waterfall by a long ways, and the photos are deceiving in that the fall is much steeper than it looks in these pics. In the right photo, you can see the limp winch cable and Goat-boy sitting too near where he has anchored the cable. The green shirted person directing traffic is my friend Terry a.k.a. Titus, who died from a heart attack shortly thereafter. No connection between this and that. Terry had a Chevy powered Land Cruiser with an 8000 lb winch which burned out on the first fall of the much easier Happy Canyon the day before, hence the solo ascent.

Amazing to think that this chimney has survived for a hundred years. It was so darn well built that it wasn't worth tearing down as happened with the rest of the mill, plus it has survived some terrible weather, earthquakes, a modern mine blasting a 100 yards away, treasure seekers, and God only knows what else. Note, if you can see it, the missing bricks in the left picture. The chimney had a chimney inside the chimney and the missing bricks are only from the outside layer.
