This photo by a photo student and friend of mine shows the SSII with its hardtop and
doors stuck in the snow in Bodie. We were there on a photo field trip, and Bodie which has
very cold winters, hadn't thawed yet. So my left front wheel dropped into a hole and the
right rear wheel came up off the ground. I'm standing there looking to see who is nearby that
could pull me out. Oh, oh, I forgot that none of the rest of the vehicles could make it that far.


Wishing for lockers, but wishes in this case didn't help much. Actually got out pretty easily
by having a lot of guys hanging onto the right side and pulling the Scout down so that it had
both it's rear wheels kind of on the ground.
