Mrs. Wessitsh, who was my teacher for 7th and 8th grade, was a very creative and innovative teacher. After I was gone (perhaps there is a cause and effect here), she arranged for the school to attend Dwight Newton's Schoolcast Program (sponsored by the SF Examiner) at KGO radio station in San Francisco. Doesn't sound like too big a deal these days, but it was a very BIG deal then.

Dwight Newton hosted the program and is shown here with his Jenny Lind School audience. George Wessitsh, shown here with his chin behind Dwight Newton's head, gave me these photos to copy.

Sitting left to right are Patty Meyer, Patsy Gregory, Judy Wessitsh, Wilma Oller, George Wessitsh, and Russell Gregory

Standing left to right are Louanne Oller, Alva Mouser, Alex Wessitsh, Eileen Messing, Marjorie Gregory, Arlene Nicholls, and Dwight Newton at the mike.

The adults who came with the Jenny Lind kids, and the kids, pose here for their photo opportunity with Dwight Newton. In the front row from left to right are Patty Meyer, Mrs. Seppi (Patty's Grandmother), Adeline Meyer (Patty's Mother), Mr. Seppi, Bernice Tells-Hunt (Patty's Aunt), Mrs., Florence Wessitsh, Nellie Messing, Martha Gregory, Josephine Nicholls
